Excuses, Excuses

There are many good reasons I haven't posted on the blog in eons.  I totally failed at the 31 Days of Blogging, but I honestly started to question the wisdom of it (after I'd started of course). But that's something for another time.  Anyway, my plentiful excuses include general busy-ness of parenting and chauffeuring four kids, homeschooling, and almost three weeks of travel.  But this is the most important excuse, and I think it will explain everything.

Meet Baby Number 5.
We are so super excited for this little one coming in May!  But I did not feel good AT ALL during my first trimester.  Verrrrryyyy tired and verrrrryyyy nauseous.  (Not as bad as what Heather describes in this hilarious, must-read post of the excellent Mama Knows, Honeychild, but bad enough to feel like a useless blob).  And if I had an ounce of energy left, or a minute of feeling decent-ish, I was going to give it to my family.

I'd known I was pregnant since the end of September, but went ahead with my blogging plans because I thought it would help distract me from how bad I felt.

Ahem.  Anyway.

So there you have it!  I do hope and plan to be blogging more and finish sharing some of the stories I'd planned for the series.  Here's one more picture of Five, practicing the old kick-Daddy-out-of-bed move.  This was the first thing we saw the baby do.
If the baby was trying to scare Matt a little... it worked! ;-)  Mainly because Five's big brother sleeps, practices kung-fu, and pees in our bed most nights. *sigh* hashtag things to work on before May.

But we're are seriously so, so happy.  Like happy-dancing, happy-crying happy.  Am I excused for my absence? ;-)

  1. Couldn't think of a better sweeter "excuse" for not! Four children, soon to be FIVE!! Congratulations - and you are certainly excused!!!

  2. Thanks, Barbara! And whew! :-)

Go ahead and make my day! Leave a (respectful) comment!
